To Kill a Mockingbird is a novel authored by Harper Lee which was published in the year 1960 and takes place in lower Alabama. It is a story of growing up which depicts the childhood of Scout and Jem Finch when their father, Atticus Finch, takes up the case of a Black man accused of rape. Scout and Jem suffer from bullying at school because of their father’s activities in the case.
