Description

The 4-Hour Workweek: Escape 9-5, Live Anywhere, and Join the New Rich is an application guide toward working and being financially free. Work smarter, not harder-that is Ferriss’s premise; do not become stuck within the framework of 9-to-5 anymore but use strategy and tactics to craft most liberty, traveling time, and personal time.

Definition (D): Make success a redefinition – challenge the status quo – rethink work, money and retirement. Ferriss invites thinking in terms of “mini-retirements” along with a lifestyle that lines up with personal values or passions.
Elimination (E): Use the rule of 80/20 and identify and focus on 20 percent of the inputs that produce 80 percent of the results. Eliminate time-wasting activities as well as distractions and activities that are of low-value.
Automation (A): Design business systems and income streams that don’t require a lot of day-to-day involvement. This can be passive income, outsourcing, or even remote work.
Liberation (L): Release yourself from geographical ties and traditional employment to earn a location-independent income. With remote work, you have the opportunity to reside or travel in cheap locations, all while earning.
Ferriss’s book challenges people to focus on results, mindful of time, and the use of technology to “design” a lifestyle that would have much more freedom and less traditional work. Such methods have been popularly adopted by entrepreneurs and freelancers who are out to achieve financial independence in their quest for personal freedom.
