Description

Nothing More to Tell” by Karen M. McManus is a really modern thriller mystery that revolves around Brynn Hastings, a senior going back to her hometown after four years’ absence. Brynn Hastings is haunted by the cold murder case of Mr. Larkin, her former teacher, which went unsolved during her last year in school. The murder shook up the community, leaving every question unsolved.

Reuniting with old friends seems to bestow upon Brynn the only peace she can get in her life until she finds that an investigation into Mr. Larkin’s death has been reopened. Brynn becomes a participant in uncovering the truth, and this means sorting through many complex feelings and connections that she had with those that are involved. Each of her friends has their own secrets and motives.

The storytelling is done through different voices of Brynn and her friends as she keeps shifting to keep the suspense and intrigue level rising by every page. The novel is a great story about friendship, loyalty, and the effects of trauma that are indeed touched upon to make everything change when it exposes dark secrets.

Rather, with the signature McManus spin in the mix-three twists within a plot-thriller, to be more specific – “Nothing More to Tell” is an edge-of-your-seat read that keeps readers spellbound, akin to other young adult thrillers.
