Description

A continuation of The Summer trilogy, It’s Not Summer Without You revolts around the premise that “bad things aren’t forever”, following on from The Summer I Turned Pretty. Belly Conklin finds herself once again caught up in a love triangle between brothers Conrad and Jeremiah Fisher, but this time the backdrop is one of grief and loss with the death of the boys’ mother, Susannah.

Major plot points:

Grief and Healing: Belly could not cope with what was happening in her life after Susannah’s death, and all these start digging Conrad tough.
Love Triangle: Since she fell for Conrad, and his brother, Jeremiah, falls in love with her, Belly is forced to make a choice between the two loves.
Family Ties: The novel also explores how the members of a family are there for one another during hard times.
The Beach House: In fact, the major part of the novel is centered around the summer beach house, a place which really has all the memories lying within it, now stands at the risk of being sold.
The book, throughout, carries on a bittersweetly emotional continuation of the series because Belly navigates complex feelings as it faces love and loss along with the end of innocence. Fans of the first book will like It’s Not Summer Without You to be filled with heartache, love, and the challenges of growing up.
