Description

Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” is the fifth novel in the series by author J.K. Rowling. “Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix” was published in 2003. In this book, Harry returns to Hogwarts for his fifth year, still shaken by what happened the previous year and the resurrection of Lord Voldemort. Still, the world of wizards refuses to believe that Voldemort has returned to power, and the Ministry of Magic, headed by Cornelius Fudge, denies the threat.

A secret society known as The Order of the Phoenix-comprising of such individuals as Harry’s godfather, Sirius Black, and Headmaster Dumbledore, among others-is formed to keep in check the dark lord Voldemort. Back at Hogwarts, the Ministry puts the nasty Dolores Umbridge in the newly opened Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher chair, simply to get the school in line, and rebellion runs rampant through the students.

Harry spends nearly the entire book feeling lonely, angry, and frustrated because he is kept in the dark by the Order. He also experiences some disturbing visions connected with Voldemort, which complicates his emotional state even further. The entire book takes an end with a battle at the Ministry of Magic with Harry and his friends coming face to face with the Death Eaters, and a tragic loss befalls that really hits Harry straight in the heart.

The themes of authority, resistance, loyalty, and personal development are all explored much more than in any other of the books in the series, creating a darker, more complicated atmosphere than seen before.
