1. A Song of Ice and Fire Series:
A Game of Thrones (1996): It is the first book in which the continents Westeros and Essos have been used to introduce this fictional series of saga about many noble families fighting for a grip over the Iron Throne. A Clash of Kings (1998): The second book extends the struggle into political terms, where multiple kings rise and fall as well as new alliances get forged.
A Storm of Swords (2000): Perhaps one of the most critically acclaimed books, it gives major twists, betrayals, and battles.
A Feast for Crows (2005): The fourth book is more about the aftermath of the war, looking into deeper personal struggles of several major characters.
A Dance with Dragons (2011): It runs parallel to parts of A Feast for Crows and has significant development in the story for Daenerys, Jon Snow, and Tyrion Lannister.
