Description
Five Children and It” is a classic children’s fantasy novel by E. Nesbit. Here, five siblings make friends with a magical creature who enables them to make their wishes come true, but in not-too-expected, chaotic scenarios.
Plot
The story begins with the introduction of the five siblings: Cyril, Anthea, Robert, Jane, and their baby brother, Lamb. One day, while exploring the countryside, they chance upon a funny-looking, furry creature in a sand pit. It is this creature known as the Psammead, an ancient being with magical powers to carry out wishes.
As they take turns wishing, they soon discover that the magic of the Psammead usually involves a twist-and-turn and laughter-filled outcome. The varied wishes range from the acquisition of riches and beauty to losing their forms altogether and flying through the air, with adventures involving excitement, danger, and as important lessons.
