Description

Circle of Death is James Patterson’s continuation of the adventure about the genetically designed children in his Maximum Ride series. The story revolves around the “Flock,” preternaturally talented children, who can all fly to varying degrees. With new threats and problems thrown their way, the Flock must navigate the world of enemies and deceit.

It is based on a pretty mysterious and deadly organization that targets the Flock and makes them face not only external dangers, but also internal conflicts and personal struggles. The different relationships formed while working to discover truth behind the enemies and for security are being tested through the bonds of friendship and loyalty.

Adding to it is the writing style of Patterson about rapid-speed storytelling. Here, Circle of Death brings together action, suspense, and emotional depth as characters try to sort out their identities and the consequences that follow from the unique gifts they possess. This is done to keep readers on tenterhooks as the Flock fights against enemies not easily defeated in the battle for survival.

Dealing with such subject matters as courage and sacrifice, with possible search for belonging, this novel is pretty sure to attract any young adult fiction fan and others who seek out action-packed adventures.
