Description
The theme was centered on the Moorish general in the Venetian army, Othello, who fell victim to a deceitful plan constructed by his ensign Iago. Fueled by jealousy and resentment, Iago manipulated Othello into believing that his wife Desdemona was involved in an affair with Cassio, a young and handsome officer.
Iago continues fueling Othello’s anger until he finally murders Desdemona. But soon after, Iago’s treachery is exposed, and Othello, full of grief and penitence, kills himself.
