Description
Namal by Nimra Ahmed is an interesting novel speaking of the plot, it is rather difficult to mire it in simple line since the whole story is a jigsaw of suspense. It smoothly intertwines passion, strong feelings, murders Trimging the very procedures of complex and juggling artful deceptions.
The main plot of the story is based on Faris Ghazi, whom is an intelligence officer and who is falsely accused of the murder of his step-brother and his wife and the attempted murder of his relative, Zumar Yousuf. Saadi Yousuf, he nephew, does not doubt his innocence and struggle to get him out of prison. At the same time, there is Zumar, the district attorney, crushed in the attack that caused her to lose both her kidneys; she is still convinced that Faris was guilty because of the hoax he pulled in his voice via a phone call prior to the crime.
Faris’s cousin, Hashim Kardaar, is the real villain; when not only a practising lawyer, the owner of an oil cartel, he killed his own kith and kin to cover tracks. There are many instances when Hashim orchestrates matters and leads to misunderstandings and deception especially concerning his mother, Jawahirat, and other characters such as Zumar among others. Saadi’s sister Haneen the genius contributes a lot towards solving of mysteries that the show involves.
The main idea of the novel is the presence of secrets and misunderstandings that hinder the actual reality and none of the characters is black and white, but rather different shades of grey. Reflected and bonded characters like lenient and noble Saadi, valorous and moral Faris, wise and stubborn Zumar and Machiavellian Hashim gives a rich complex texture to the tale.
